Pearl Technology Supports Local Award
The 2006 Alliance Library System's Technology Award was recently presented to two libraries in recognition of their innovative approaches to planning and implementation of a program or service using technology, including web design and application. For three years, Pearl Technology has supported the Alliance Library System by sponsoring the award on behalf of the Alliance. "We are proud of our Association with the Alliance Library System and proud to sponsor this award," said Greg Johnson, Senior Vice President of Pearl Technology. "It just makes good business sense to be involved in a valuable community partnership like the Alliance."

This year's first winner is the Sherrard Public Library, which provides wireless internet, the use of iPods for digital audio books, two large televisions, and an Xbox 360. These technologies have increased the teenage population utilizing and visiting the library. The second winner is Arlis Dittmer of the Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing. Arlis and her staff offer cutting edge technology. They are also part of Health Illinois, a "Go Local" project from the National Library of Medicine, which will bring web-based local health information to the entire State of Illinois.

For more than 20 years, Pearl Technology has been providing Central Illinois businesses with customized technology solutions that help them achieve their business objectives. Pearl Technologies is part of the Pearl Companies, including Pearl Insurance, Pearl Benefits, Pearl Automotive, and Pearl Carroll & Associates LLC. Their commitment to working hard, working smart, and working together has not only placed them in the enviable position they are today, but has also secured them a strong presence in the marketplace for years to come.
