Pearl Companies recently completed its Spirit Week campaign for the United Way, raising $16,935.73 for Heart of Illinois United Way and other United Way chapters local to Pearl's Regional Directors across the United States.
In their annual fundraising effort to support the United Way, Pearl held Spirit Week activities to benefit United Way and remind Pearl employees of the programs United Way has to benefit those in need, regardless of income, gender, color, or creed. The amount raised this year nearly doubled their total from 2007, which in itself was a substantial amount of over $10,000.
With what Pearl's associates were able to procure from its Spirit Week campaign, the United Way can help people with assistance they truly need such as counseling, disaster and emergency shelter and services, respite care, parenting skills, outreach services, legal advocacy, and educational programming. They can offer self-reliance programs including employment services, counseling, life skills, food pantries, home delivered meals, special transportation, and transitional housing. And they can fund health programs including health and safety services, community clinics, exercise/therapy, emergency response, home health care, substance abuse prevention and treatment, dental services, visual services, Alzheimer's and Arthritis education and support, and more.
