The 2008 recipient of Pearl Companies' highest honor, the Jim Jenkel Memorial Service Award, is Darrel Hedman, Systems Engineer. Pearl's annual Jim Jenkel Memorial Service Award honors a valued employee's extraordinary dedication, effort, loyalty, and commitment to provide the highest quality of customer service. It was established in 1993 in memory of Jim Jenkel—a valued Pearl employee who died unexpectedly the night of our Christmas party in December of 1992. Hedman, who fills a very significant position in the Pearl IT Infrastructure Team, is recognized for his key role in maintaining Pearl's business continuum by meeting the IT needs—24 hours a day, seven days a week—of the entire company, eliminating downtime through his determination to see technology problems through. A dedicated Pearl associate for several years, Hedman's experience and positive attitude in approaching IT tasks large and small, at all hours, make him a logical choice for the prestigious Jim Jenkel Memorial Service Award.
