Pearl Automotive of Peoria, IL—which includes Lexus of Peoria and Peoria Toyota-Scion (located at Allen Road and Willow Knolls) and Heritage Buick-Mazda-GMC (at Pioneer Parkway/Auto Row)—has announced its plans to donate $25 to charity each time a car is sold for the remainder of 2009.
The charitable giving kicks off at the 20th Annual Central Illinois Auto Show at the Peoria Civic Center, April 3-5, 2009. This "Largest Show in Downstate Illinois" is the perfect venue to gather support from the community for fundraising during a critical time for those in need, with many charities having been hit hard during the current economic situation.
"The Pearl Companies have been part of the Peoria community for a very long time," says Mike Udell, Director of Operations for Pearl Automotive. "We at Pearl Automotive believe it is our responsibility to help Peoria in every way we can. By giving $25 per vehicle sold for the rest of 2009 to the charity of the buyer's choice, we hope to donate more than $100,000 to worthy causes by the end of the year."
Udell has suggested two organizations in particular as excellent choices of recipients for the donations: Children's Hospital of Illinois and the Thomas E. Whitten Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation; however, all Pearl Automotive customers are encouraged to direct their contribution to any charitable organization they support.
"When times are tough, we all need to do a little more to help, especially for nonprofits within our community," explains Mike Murphy, Executive Vice President/Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Pearl Companies. "Pearl has been supporting various charitable organizations for years, and we plan to continue to help through fundraising, volunteering, and other donations as much as we can."
